| | | North East Adders Hi, can anyone help?
I've been out every Saturday for the last six weeks looking for adders. I've been all over Cragside, Simonside, Thrunton Woods and Hamsterley but have not spotted one!
Can anyone suggest a location where I am likely to spot an adder, please try and been specific - thanks in advance.
PS saw my first Common Lizard at Cragside last week, so at least I've broken my reptilian duck (so to speak) |

| | | Re: North East Adders You'll find people reluctant to give out locations and are very protective of them for obvious reasons.
This time of year on warm days it is best to start out early at about 7 in the morning and look on south facing banks whilst keeping the sun to your side or behind you. After about 11 or 12 midday you may as well give up as they seek shelter from the sun. |
