Where can i get Pond Plants from?
I need it for pond life like frogs,newts ect. |

Please don't get them from garden centres or you'll end up with rampant invasives. If you have a nature reserve or similar nearby, ask the ranger staff if you can have some native aquatic plants for your pond. Chances are you'll get them for free or a small donation. Rigid Hornwort Ceratophyllum demersum will be the best native submerged plant for oxygenating the water.

eBay and online garden centre sites are worth a look for native pond plants. Natural England has a document about wildlife ponds which includes examples of native plants, you can download it for free here NE27 - Garden ponds and boggy areas: havens for wildlife |

I recently built a pond and sourced my plants from puddleplants. The site is useful as it separates natives from non-natives.
Really good service, I was able to specify a delivery date which fitted in with my plans, they were also really helpful after the delivery as my plans slipped and I needed to know how to stop them dying before I had a chance to plant them.

If you buy on ebay- before you buy look at their other items for sale. If they sell any of the non native invasives, avoid that seller because you may get "contaminated" plants with a fragment of something you don't want. You can also email them and ask the same question. By this method I bought some nice clean water starwort and Ranunculus aquatilis.
Similarly, if a friend offers you some, and they have say Azolla (fairy moss), say a polite no, say you are trying to keep to native plants only. | | |
