| | | Adder shedding Had a search around recently to see if I could find any Adders to photograph, successfully found several but all displayed eye covering clouded ( photo attached ) presume this is an indicator that they are due to shed their skin shortly, wondered if anyone could give me a best guess how long the shedding process takes to enable me to return and hopefully get some shots when they are in prestine new skins and presumably competing for mates. |

| | | Re: Adder shedding I have a pet corn snake so I will comment on how he sheds. Once the eyes are clouded over they usually stay like that for a couple of days. Then the skin covering the eyes usually falls off and the snake sheds the rest of his skin within the next couple of days. Occasionally the snake sheds all his skin including the eye coverings at the same time all within a few days of the eyes clouding over.
I would assume that adders are similar.
Best regards,
