| | | Adder distribution
Saw my first adder of the year yesterday, i should be in cornwall next week and wonder what the chances are of seeing them there.

| | | Re: Adder distribution Plenty of good coastal/heathland habitat in Cornwall that should give you a reasonable chance if weather is suitable. |

| | | Re: Adder distribution At Lands End, there were signs saying 'Adders in this area, be aware" or words to that extent. Didn't see any but had a quick glimpse of a Common Lizard.

| | | Re: Adder distribution I spent 3 hours yesterday at Headley Heath / Box Hill in Surrey looking for adders with no success. And I've just got back from Kingswood Ashford where I've spent five hours unsuccessfully looking for adders! I'm sick of looking now. It's just a case of being in the right place at the right time unfortunately. |

| | | Re: Adder distribution Thanks folks, from lands end i should cross good terrain towards penzance, then some coast path followed by lanes towards bodmin, fingers crossed with this weather wildlife should be abundant.

| | | Re: Adder distribution Today we had a field trip to a London site for reptiles where 21 Adders + 2 Common Lizards were seen. I didn't see all the Adders as some disappeared too quickly but had excellent views of some shown by an excellent herpetologist. One of our members was present at the site yesterday + had 2 Grass Snakes (none today) + 10 Adders.
2 of the males today had recently sloughed their skin + looked stunning. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
