| | slow worms I found a slowworm on the path in my garden yesterday seems a bit early for them to be about ... Is this normal? Or am I the first this year? |

| | | Re: slow worms Hi Stomperone
I saw one locally on the 21st of March at the end of a fine spell of weather,as did someone else near me. There have not been many reported on WAB so far, it maybe that their season is just beginning now.I think that there would have been some earlier emergences if it wasn't for the weather though.
Cheers Jason

| | | Re: slow worms I saw one out on lowland heathland just over a week ago. It is normal for this time of the year, although a little slower to emerge this year due to the cold weather. Lets hope we have a long warm spell soon.
Cheers. |

| | | Re: slow worms I saw one sunning itself on a drystone wall in the village last week despite being on the cool side. I regularly check a number of tin sheets on a slow worm hot spot but haven't seen one there yet. |

| | | Re: slow worms A good place to look for Slow Worms at this time of year is under anything on the ground, preferably on a sunny day.
These 3 were all under one piece of opaque plastic
This Grass Snake was under another piece of plastic just a few yards from the
Slow worms. There was also another Slow Worm next to him, but he hissed off before I could get a photo of them both
