very concerned about my frog spawn

Dear all,

Many thanks for your comments, hopefully we'll see some frogs if we play the waiting game.

We have a water lilley in the pond and some oxygenating pond weed. We have a small solar fountain which works when the sun shines, but it's only for a couple of hours a day at best. Also some water snails & pond skaters. The pond was only finished a couple of months ago.

Phil- you can all still keep a diary of whatever pondlife appears in the pond, and which birds bathe in it, and hopefully next year you might be lucky.

Somperone- go out with a torch tonight, stand still and if there are tadpoles you should be able to see them. (Phil- do the same and you may be able to see more pondlife)

Next year, if you do think it was stolen, put a net over, but make sure it is taut and suspended at least 9 inches above the pond to allow amphibians, birds and hedgehogs to enter.
