Dead Frogs

Found 4 dead frogs in my pond this week, has anyone herd of a frog problem this season? (Cambridgeshire) or have I just been unlucky so far. Had frogs in pond for 9/10 years this is a unusually high mortality rate so early in the year.

Has the pond been froze? does it have large amounts of debris like leaves, twigs, soils, plants in the bottom of it?

Pond pump kept a good size area clear from ice, I try to keep the bottom fairly clean of rubbish as I have several goldfish & koi and monitor the water for purity ect. I wondered if the extended cold spell might have left them too weak to survive.

Im guessing these were in the pond? possibly due to the cold, do these frogs have any visible marks on them? no ulcers or anything.

Yes they were in the pond with no obvious signs of ulcers or marks that I had noticed. Apart from being dead they appeared to be healthy mature frogs (gender unknown). Unlike 2/3 years ago when there was a wasting type of disease.
