| | | Re: Frogs. urgent info required please Before the frogspawn hatches is probably the best time to do it. You could put the spawn in another container. But the time to avoid is when they are just hatching when they still need to hang onto the spawn for bit.
So buy some sand, and get going!
When I put my preformed one in. it was down at one end. I couldn't be bothered to empty it again. Someone had given me some small clay pipes, so I emptied a bit, then sort of put these under the rim in the low bit. That was just enogh to make the pond level and also to provide some hidey holes. |

| | | Re: Frogs. urgent info required please I was wondering if its worth pointing out that frogs don't need water they will be absolutely fine if you just put them in a flowerbed in your garden (and its better for them than someone elses pond because they will know where they are) though the same is not true for spawn, a large bucket will do for that (again best to keep it in your own garden or immediate neighbours if you can as there is a risk of transfer of disease between ponds if you move spawn).
I think there is probably quite a risk of further spawn appearing unless you could maybe remove the shell or put some tarpaulin or something over the old pond tightly sealed at the edges? | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
