There are lots of male frogs in my pond but no croaking

I was wondering why I have many male frogs but no frogs croaking as it is breeding season

Male frog tend to hibernate in ponds, females tend to hibernate on land. This is perhaps the reason why. They have yet to start trying to attract a mate. Also they dont always croak and can croak at night when you arnt there.

Thanks Dogg, that answers my question as well, I just hope the dogs haven't found the females.

i have not heard that much noise from frogs in the uk over the years, but have heard tree frogs and Pool Frogs when in france, they seem to call all the time year round

Common Frogs have a much softer call than the various green frogs (Marsh, Pool + Edible) + Tree Frogs. Easy to miss!
