| | | Re: Any Frogs Spawn in South East England Lots of frog activity in our garden pond this morning, first time I've seen them. I'll have a look this afternoon to see if there's any spawn appeared yet. |

| | Re: Any Frogs Spawn in South East England just had a look at pond and didn't see any frogs, but there is a very chilly wind, which will have lowered the temperature of the surface water and the shallows around edges, so I expect the 3 I saw last night when it was still and warm have moved to a warmer spot. I hope they haven't said 'blow this' and gone back to 'sleep' .There was a little bit of loud 'plopping' which could have been frogs, but I don't know what else I've got in there, so it could have been anything, maybe a small water mammal?, I suppose there are such things, of the vole or rat family. It is a pond therefore still water but is fed by a natural spring, and at the moment the water-level is very high, right up to the underside of the wooden bridge. There are Water Voles resident closeby in the stream but I suppose they like running water.. ..Will look for frogs again tonight when I come in from chores...Posie.. |
