| | | Information Request Hi All,
I am very interested in photography and wondered if anybody had any information on sites for Natterjack Toad, Sand Lizard and Smooth Snake. I have heard that the Dorset heaths are good for Sand Lizard but have no idea about the other two species.
Any help gratefully recieved.

| | | Re: Information Request jeveritt,
I do know of a New Forest area where sand lizards are still around although not in any great numbers, as for smooth snakes i very rarely see them on my travels and haven't seen a natterjack for a very long time.

For obvious reasons, I would hope people are reluctant to give precise locations on the world wide web.
Hope you understand.

i can't see anyone giving specific information about sites for strictly protected species on an open forum. try surrey and dorset args here ARG-UK - Amphibian & Reptile Group of United Kingdom and someone may be able to help.

For Natterjacks the Norfolk coast and few inland sites are the best area near you. Smooth snakes and sand lizards are best found in Dorset and while there you could pop to Boscombe cliffs to see the non native green and wall lizards there |

| | | Re: Information Request I don't think anyone would reveal the best locations the mentioned species because of their rarity and the fact they're fully protected by law (i.e disturbance). There's 1 or 2 sites in West Sussex where you will find Sand Lizards and a couple of sites in N.E Hampshire which support Sand Lizards and Smooth Snakes.
