Yellow toads

Has anyone else got a yellow toad? I've always thought that they varied in colour, and our 2 yellow ones (there is also a brown one) were at the lighter end of the scale, but looking at pictures from RAUK, the toads look distinctly buff coloured. One is our 'house toad', which lives in a drystone wall by the back door, but is rarely seen. It's been there for about 12 years that we know of, but I have no idea of its age.

I believe that they can live for 35 years.

I have seen yellow ones, at the time of mating. (theirs, not mine) I have also found some with the same colour scheme as Bagpuss!

That's interesting, I'm not sure if our toads are only yellow during mating, as we hear rather than see them. Will be on the lookout in the future!

I've never seen a yellow toad myself. It will be very interesting to see one. Can any one post a picture?

I've seen very buff/yellowish coloured toads where I used to work on the Lincolnshire coast. Apparently though, this colour form is not unheard of in sandy areas, evolved as camoflage against the light coloured background.
