How to sex a palmate newt?
Hi All,

Ive basically come across a group of newts in my garden and although i dont want to remove them i am interested in how to sex them?

I know they are palmate newts due to the absence of spots on the throat as the smooth newt has but am unsure how to sex them during this season?

The males will have lost their crest and point to the tail - is this correct. So i wanted to know how i would go about sexing them now?

Any help would be awesome..
