| | | Adders in September Could anyone tell me the chances of seeing adders on a sunny September afternoon? I thought I might investigate a couple of sites in my neck of the woods tomorrow if the weather is OK. |

| | | Re: Adders in September September is a good month for seeing Adders. I would try in the morning as it begins to warm up; if it's too warm they won't be basking. Good luck! |

| | | Re: Adders in September It's unlikely that anyone is going to advertise any location directly on an open forum. The best thing to do is to contact your local ARG. An internet search will also narrow down the possibilities and point you in the right directions in terms of habitat etc. The last few weeks have yielded perfect weather for herping though, and it seems set to continue. |

Plus you will then know whether a permit is required to have a mooch around. Adders are notoriously difficult to see even when you;re in the right place tho!! Good luck! |

there are no adders on merseyside. north wales is good for adders and not too far away. if you do approach your local arg ARG-UK - Amphibian & Reptile Group of United Kingdom derbyshire and south yorkshire might be you best bet.
it really helps to have someone with you who knows the site at first.
good luck
