We've got our first frog!

How exciting! I've just noticed the first frog in our pond which we built in February. I was in the garden just looking around and heard a 'plop'. Went over to the pond and saw nothing but after some searching this fella was hiding behind one of the marginals. He was a bit camera shy so this is the best pic I've got so far.

Nice to see the wildlife starting to come in Claire..

I have tiny frogs and toads all over the lawn so the mowing is banned lol..

Hi Great to hear you have you first frog. I though that I only had one until I was giving the pond a bit of a clean and I moved a stone and found that I had three.
They are great for the garden.

claire, am thrilled for you, bet your heart leapt when it saw the frog, I know mine still does on a daily basis. You worked really hard on your pond and you deserve little visitors

I put some washing out before work yesterday morning and noticed them inbetween the grass so, as with kayleigh, I am not mowing the lawn for a few weeks.

Well the frog hasn't been seen since we first noticed it, which is a bit disappointing

But the fact that we saw one at all is good because it seems we've made a good job in the design & built of it! To be honest it could be anywhere in the thick planting around the pond or in the grass which hasn't been cut for a while so I'm sure we'll see him again

Great to see them for the first time - reward for your labours! I sit and talk to mine: they've got used to me and pop up and down and sit and catch flies. Their colours range from nearly black to bright yellow. Only a small pond but lots of life in it. You'll have hours of pleasure.
