A Slow Worm In My Garden

I was lucky enough to just witness a slow worm in my garden bite off the head of a worm and then eat the body only. He spat the head out on the floor. How Cool Is That!!!! Has anybody witnessed this. I was wondering why it didnt eat the worms head.

possibly to kill the worm making it easier to handle.

Good action pic, I haven't seen a Slow-worm feeding before. Out of interest,was this 'in the open' or under something like a compost bin? In any case, it was well worth posting, thanks for sharing it.

Hi Mark,

I have a big bush in my garden and i have a big pile of rubble behind the bush and they live in that so i spose it is in the open. I see them quite a lot.
