Strange frog behaviour.

Can anyone explain this behaviour? This morning, quite early I found a Common frog sitting in a Sage bush about 6 inches from the ground. I checked to see if it was Ok and unfortunately this disturbed it. It climbed down, hopped about a foot and then climbed up into a clump of chives. I wondered if it was trying to find a sunny spot, looking for breakfast or just trying to keep out of the way of a preditor (me or a Grass snake)?

Fairly common behaviour. Probably not sun seeking at this time of year, perhaps after slugs which will have moved upwards during the night towards more tender foliage. So long as the plant cover is fairly moist frogs seem as happy in this as under planks, stones etc.

Ok, that's good news, plenty of slugs for it on my veg!!! Thanks for your reply.
