west yorkshire adders

hi all im new to this site but it looks very friendly.i have been trying to find info on adder populations local to me! i live in cottingley near bradford and wondered if there is any know adder populations nearby.im going up to haworth moor next weekend which seems a prime area,i am aware its not the prime time to see them but they is a chance.i am a very keen reptile enthusiast and have never seen a wild adder and it would be great to do so! any info is greatly accepted. thanks gav

Can I ask what's the best way to see adders?
When are they most active?
When do you have no chance?

When its sunny under corrugated iron sheets, near heath and bracken, moorland.

Fairly early morning on a bright day is when I see most as they are sunning themselves. Remember to walk quietly they are very sensitive to vibrations and sounds. You have no chance in winter when they hibernate.
