Smile Grass snakes and lizards in Yorkshire
Having read on a number of sites about Sprotbrough Flash near Doncaster, I went down today in the hope of seeing a grass snake...shock of shocks success. Earlier in the afternoon I saw a pregnant common lizard among old railway sleepers near to the derelict Earth Centre. eventually from one of the hides around SF I spotted a grass snake winding through the weed in the water, what a fulfilling day. Now all I need to see is a smooth snake, I've tried in vain in Dorset previously
