and Tiggrx in Colwyn bay there were Adders, Grass Snakes and an exotic a Rat Snake (which looks like a Grass Snake) Incidently the Rat Snake is quite widespread in the London area.

| | Re: snakes in wales Hello, On the subject of snakes does anyone know of a good cure for the fear of snakes, one year ago last march my wife and i were fishing a old gravel pitt near warwick and we had a visit from three long grass snakes my wife became hysterical and a stranger came running and stood and laughed his head off, they truthfully were four feet long and this man said that they got even bigger?, I think they were attracted by maggots i have fished there for years but never since, my wifes panic made me feel worse i do not know why, i have been with my twelve year old grand daughter with her in front just for a walk but saw nothing, she loves things like that, am i silly or what???, aland |

A member of the ratsnake family. Populations are present in and around the grounds of The Welsh Mountain zoo in Colwyn Bay. Feisty little snakes!!
There are also a number of other sites in the North West of Wales where adders can be found in good numbers. I know of two sites on Anglesey, one of which is South Stack. This site is also popular with ornithologists. |

| | Re: snakes in wales Hi, Sorry i have been slow answering i have not been able to get to my pc,
thanks for your sugestion but i do not fancy a trip down to london, I expect if i could get to handle a small one a few times i would be ok, years ago i was even scared of spiders and toads but when i have seen them in any danger i go to any lengths to save them and this made me see how silly i had been in the past and i love toads now, But i cannot see me getting over this fear without other people helping, Thanks, aland. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
