Do Rats Eat Frogs?

I have discovered 7 dead, medium sized frogs in a hole in my garden compost. All were very similar to one another being yellowish with dark markings but they appeared to have been attacked, partly eaten. The other day I happened to spot a rat enter the garden from next door. Could it be the rat that has attacked them and gathered them together?

Yes its possible that rats and in some cases wood mice will kill frogs and eat them, or eat parts of them. I wouldnt rule this out. As will stoats and weasels.

Where I work we witnessed a wood mouse eating a frog while the frog was alive and trying to hop away. We only saw it because it was during the heavy snows and both were out and we saw the blood on the snow first!!! Crazy I know, but true. I emailed the information of this behaviour to the mammal society and they'd never heard of anything like it before!
