| | | A possible solution to frog/toads/newts trapped in drains My hubby built a 'frog ramp' a few days ago out of a piece of wood. We have now installed it in the frog/toad trap at the back of our house (a back garden access road). We still keep an eye as it hasn't been tested but we hope it works!
The drain can be easily opened and the ramp fitted like this:
This is the closed drain with amphibian ramp fitted
I am not sure if this is totally legal, but on the other hand, it is probably illegal to set up amphibian traps as well...

Would the Frog be able to get out of the top of the drain from the ramp without falling and hurting itself? |
