| | | Tiny white bugs I wasn't actually sure whether to post this on the herp or invert section.
I am currently raising tadpoles indoors and plan to release them as early toadlets. I have been collecting rainwater and changing it regularly.
Today, I noticed tiny white specs on the surface of their water. At first I thought it was just a bit of dust but when I looked closer I saw that they were making short, rapid movements.
Any chance of an ID? Is there a chance that these might be harmful to my tadpoles? They are not at their carnivorous stage yet so they aren't going to ingest them.
Thank you. |

or
Top one being a Cyclops, a crustacean (?) living in freshwater.
Bottom one being a Springtail. (Not usually water dwellers but I found loads on the surface film of my frogs water.) |

Thanks. |

Again, maybe my changing the water is a little excessive and unnecessary, but I wanted to be on the safe side. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
