| | | Spawn with Altitude Heh heh, liked the title. Well I'm now back to the world of cs3 hooraaayyy. Was wandering around the beacons, was at the point where the altitude was around 725m above sea level, not far off Corn Du peak when I came across a bit of bog which was actually plastered in frog spawn Really didn't expect frog spawn at this height. Here are 2 pics, one of the spawn, one of it's context, stunning discovery for me at least. Surprised pics not blurred due to gasping for air after climb lol.

| | | Re: Spawn with Altitude I came across this once in Scotland - or was it Cumbria......
Anyway I think the frogs struggle to find non-flowing water in such upland areas so when they do its spawn tasticness |

| | | Re: Spawn with Altitude I quite often see this locally in the Monadhliath and Cairngorms, large patches of spawn in what looks like barely damp grass. |

| | | Re: Spawn with Altitude I was initially astonished that barely existent water doesn't evaporate in the sunshine, however, with a biting cold wind up there even this time of the year I suppose it helps prevent that.
