| | | Will temporarily reducing slug population harm slowworms? Found slowworms in the garden several times last year
But the parsnips we planted were all eaten by something shortly after germination - the main suspect being slugs.
So if I use nematodes to reduce the slug population whilst the parsnips are germinating this year am I going to seriously harm the slowworms?
[Have used nematodes on slugs in a previous, slowworm-free, garden and the slug population was back to normal by the end of the summer] |

you lucky thing...slowworms in the garden!!!
slowworms eat other inverts as well as slugs so they may be ok. if there isn't enough food for them then i suppose some may 'vote with thier feet' and find somewhere more suitable in the short term. sorry i can't be more helpful.
