Lots of frogs at it - no spawn

I found a thread about this a couple of years ago but inconclusive....

We have a smallish pond (2 x 0.75m) which has a dozen or so frogs in it. They have been hard at it for almost 3 weeks now, in 2s, 3s and 4s, but so far, no spawn.

Is there something wrong? Should we change things?

I’ve had a lot of frustration too – had frogs in my pond (pond is only 9 months old and very sparse of any vegitation) for the past 6 weeks but no spawn at all.
Then, last evening noticed the very first clump.

It’s hard to explain the timings, but I would suggest just being patient. If they are in there and clamped together, they are up to just one thing.

I have noticed a lack of frog spawn in my area. The small ponds I visit regularly have either none or very little spawn. I don't know if this is just local or widespread though.

Yesterday morning there was one clump and today two more, so I'm not worried any more. It seems there may just have been more prolonged 'foreplay' than usual.
