| | My poorly frog Last week I was thrilled to find frogspawn in my pond.
This week my heart sank as I found a frog floating on th surface in daylight looking exhausted.
I took it out carefully and noticed it seems to have lost the use of the front legs whilst the rear legs tend to kick quite well.
I put it under a big rock to recover having assumd a cat had been tossing the poor devil around, however, I can see no wounds or anything on the skin at all...
This morning I found it floating around again, looking even more exhausted.
Anyone else seen anything like this? Is it worth me taking it to a wildlife rescue centre?

| | | Re: My poorly frog Floating how? It is normal for frogs to float at the water surface so long as they're the right way up, is it listing or upside down or someting? In addition when floating they do often just lazily kick with just their back legs to motor around the pond. |

| | | Re: My poorly frog Yes, indeed, they often do just tend to just bob around...
But when I picked it up and examined it, the front legs appeared limp and lifeless.
When I placed it on the beach towards the big rock it pushed its body with back legs only and really appeared to struggle.
Also in my experience this year, my frogs quickly swim away as soon as I approach and get too close to them unless I am very careful, but this little guy just doesn't seem to be bothered, thats why I assumed he was ailing...
