I thought I'd add a note of hope to the thread...

I don't recall ever having seen a lizard in the UK, but during a walk on Howden Moors in the High Peak Estate last August, I was astounded to see not one, but four of them!

Hard to say if I was just lucky, or if they are doing particularly well there, given that it is so remote and not easy to access.
