| | | lots of frogspawn Saw our 1st lot of frog spawn in my lincolnshire garden yesterday, about 40 frogs, and lots of noise. The frogs are 1 week earlier than last years, still trying to sort out how to put pics on . |

This is the 1st lot of frog spawn that was laid on 20th Feb in my pond in the garden and last week saw some in a puddle in the New Forest as well!! Also saw the toad spawn in a pond in the heathland of the New Forest
Seems to be a lot this year just hope we dont have anymore harsh weather and it survives

| | | Re: lots of frogspawn I took some of my frog spawn out of the pond and put it in a smaller pool to try and help it survive my koi fish eating it and this is a photo of the hatched tadpoles which I took yesterday. How big do you think they should be before I can put them back into the large pond?

| | | Re: lots of frogspawn Re Monkey's question about how big taddies should be: Never too big! I did the same last year and brought up loads of taddies til they had both back legs. Released them into the pond, the fish were most amused that their food could now swim about, made more of a game A few fortunate taddies DID manage to get down amongst the weeds before they were eaten, & these few hardy souls did develop into froglets. But out of the hundreds that were released into the pond only about 3 made it! But three are enough in a year in a small pond. Good luck, enjoy the wonder | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
