Newt id please
This goregeous little newt was sitting in the middle of the canal towpath this afternoon (moved to safety as there were alot of people and dogs around). Could someone id please? The underside was orange colour - you can just about see the colour on the underside of the tail section.

I agree with Smooth Newt. I think it's a male, the pattern looks right

Thanks all, hope he didn't mind being moved but he really was in danger as he was heading from the reed bed across the path to a grassy bank.
