| | | froglight Very silly question - is this just a stray beam of light making the one brighter than others or is it that (s)he is really 'switched on'?

I don't know if they are any whiter in the spring, or with old or young frogs. |

| | | Re: froglight Great pic Chris. Mine hear me coming as soon as I get to the top of the path and I hear a mass of splashes as they dive under before I'm even in sight. All my viewings are from the kitchen window through binoculars. I expect to be arrested on the suspicions of neighbours any day now...... |

better light today and getting used to best creeping up angle - amazed at how long their legs are when seen stretched out. These are all taken on a mini-nature reserve "The Charlie Ballard nature reserve" in Colwall in memory of a locallandowner who encouraged access. Very near the station and it is amazing how many trains there are when you don't want to go anywhere, not to mention over-enthusiastic children being shown round

| | | Re: froglight Lovely pics again Chris.
I know what you mean about over-enthusiastic children but I try ever so hard to be tolerant if any do turn up where I am because some of those are tomorrow's conservationists and nature enthusiasts. When I was about 9, we had a school trip to Tring reservoirs where I'm sure we annoyed the hell out of any birders there. But it stuck in my mind and over 30 years later I'm still taking such trips - just a bit quieter this time.
Is flipping annoying if it happens to be an otter hide you're in though
On the flip side, I took my kids and my 2 nephews to a magnificent bird hide at Hickling Broad and by the time we got there, there was not a thing in sight for some reason! And I'm not sure the 2 birders in there were too chuffed. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
