| | | Common Lizard Info Request Hi
I was wondering if anyone would know a good source of information on the common lizard.
The common lizard is one of only two reptiles found in Ireland (the other being the slow worm, which has a very restricted distribution).
There seems to be a limited amount of information available in Ireland and as the common lizard isnt as strictly protected in the UK, there seems to be limited info there too.
If anyone could recommend any books, papers or would be willing to share their own experience I would be greatful.
Thanks

| | | Re: Common Lizard Info Request The website of Herpetological Conservation Trust has a good section on all our reps, but there aren't really many good books available which go into any detail. The Trevor Beebee et. al. book mentioned earlier is brilliant but I think it is out of print and the few copies available are very expensive. |

| | | Re: Common Lizard Info Request Just to add to my last post, 'The Reptiles and Amphibians of Dorset' by David Wareham, published by the British Herpetological Society, contains in depth accounts of all our native species, and is widely available.
Your local Amphibian and Reptile Group (there should be one per county) is likely to run a series of surveys, walks and talks and I have always found these to be a great source of info. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
