| | | Hoop snake in Britain? Does anyone know whether or not the folklore of the "hoop snake" has any occurences in Britain? That is,reports of snakes rolling along the ground in a hoop formation. There are rare reports from the U.S.

It somehow isn't very convincing, neither does it have any sort of root in our wildlife. Interesting to be proved wrong, but I would like to see chapter and verse for anyone claiming this to be an old tale (tale - Tail.
