| | | Snake bite When I met Beryl this morning she showed me a bite on her leg which she gained whilst wading between all the wild flowers and bushes on the Exe Estuary walk. Not as inflamed as it was but it was quite painful. She thought she may have stepped on a snake not realising it was there as it was very overgrown.Does anyone know what may have bitten her here is the pic |

| | | Re: Snake bite I would go for a grass snake Beryl. Usually a bite from an adder will cause the area to bruise badly and go a very dark colour. Do you think the snake will live?............................................. .................................................. .................................................. ..............................
only kidding. Hope you are OK! |

| | | Re: Snake bite I think grass snakes bite as an absolute last resource. Think you may have surprised it or even trodden on it by accident to do that. I know a herpetologist who told me that in his 25 years in the job he has only known two people to have had a bite from a grass snake. It may have been shedding it's skin in the long grass and felt cornered. I'm sure it didn't mean it.
Anyway Beryl. I really hope your leg isn't too sore. I would put stout wellies on if your doing a David Bellamy again through the undergrowth. Cheers Julie
