| | | Can I find any reptiles in Oxfordshire? Hi, im Reuben and I was wandering if i could find any reptiles around oxfordshire, abingdon in perticular. There is a fairly big forrest behind where I live with the thames running through it and i want to find some reptiles, does anyone know if there would be any reptiles there? or in oxfordshire in general? |

I used to live at Carterton, and as well as great crested newts on the airfield, I also used to see snakes down stream past Ducklington on the Lower Windrush.

| | | Re: Can I find any reptiles in Oxfordshire? Hi ther before leaving Oxfordshire I visited Wittenham clumps near Wallingford many times..Some great wildlife and fungi are spotted there..thats where i saw my first Adder and Grass snake..also try in Wittenham woods..

And welcome to WAB,
When you go on your walks, keep your eyes open for peices of roofing felt or corugated tin sheets lying on the ground, if the sun's out, even on a cold day,the tin sheet heats up a little bit and some times you will find Sloe Worms, Adders or Lizards under it,
