Newt nabs slug, pictures

Managed to capture one of the newts nabbing a slug,
it snuck up on it then sniffed? or sized up its din dins for about a minute then did the lunge and grab, the pics were taken from the back of the viv.

it sure is intreasting having a viv for insects and such
when i got intreasted in newts i didn't know much about them, certainly not how they catch their meals
i wondered if they flung out a sticky tounge like a frog, did they have chewwing teeth etc
the newts i have were rescued from doom, a blackbird or crow was making a main course of them, there are still plenty of them in the same area still

with this capture i was expecting the newt to get much closer for the sniff out but s/he decided to go straight in for the grab
i have seen them sniffing them out right up close
