| | | Help with egg i.d. please Hello all,
I've decided to register & ask if anyone can help me identify eggs I found in my garden today.
I was letting my chickens feed around the garden while I was having a tidy round & decided to take a look under a concrete slab I had placed there about 9 months ago. I was suprised to find two clumps of white sphere eggs each being around 5mm in diameter & say 20-30 per clutch. I had found 9 smooth newts nearby around the 9 months ago while I was making my chicken run hence the slabs place. The newts I admittedly did move to a rocky spot in the garden where I know newts are living & they wer found on the opposite side of the garden to the eggs.
I will happily take a photo later when I get time but in the meantime, are they too big for smooth newt eggs? Do they lay out of water? I need your help.
Thanks & regards
