Hi all,
Went to our local pond and found this little guy.
I'm assuming it is a frog, as its legs are longer than a toads and its head appears pointy.
However, this poor little fella only has one eye !!
When I found him he was very skinny and clearly had trouble looking after himself so I decided to adopt him for the time being, until he gets bigger and stronger then i'll release him back. (if he can manage)
He's currently eating (although its very hit & miss, quite often gets a mouthful of sand as opposed to the 'juicy' pinhead cricket)
Any ideas what would have caused this ? Pollution ? Nip from a fish or similar when in tadpole stage ?
One thing I must mention is that when he was on the side of his temporary home, I could practically see right through him, and where the eye should be, is seethrough, whereas the other eye and his head aren't (Making me think it must have been a 'birth' defect rather than an attack)
Some pics.

Not the best pics in the world, sorry, using an ancient video-camera in pic mode because it has 15x optical zoom.
