| | Please Help Identify Hi, Can anyone please help to identify a frog I have found living under my shed ! Im pretty sure its a frog as it is smooth to the touch and not lumpy.
It is bright orange ! I actually thought it was an orange. It is about 4 - 5 inches from top of its head to base of its body. When it moved it kind of walked rather than hopped. Will try and get a photo of it next time I see it. Searched the internet but cant find any pictures etc so have no idea at all what it is. Thanks |

| | | Re: Please Help Identify could it be an escapee toad/frog because I haven't seen an orange frog before! |

| | | Re: Please Help Identify common frogs can vary hugely in colour and orange yellow and even reddish frogs have been recorded so its not impossible that this is a common frog |

| | | Re: Please Help Identify It could be a emperature thing, see: I've got a pink common toad!
If not, maybe the ranavirus if it's in the UK? Apparently they turn pink: Trenton Garner
Failig that, an ornamental frog as suggested? |

| | | Re: Please Help Identify I would be very surprised if it was anything other than a common frog, ive seen them orange, blue, purple, brown, green, almost black, almost white/pink. A very variable species as already mentioned. The only other realistic option is its a toad, which can be fairly smooth in some individuals. Doubt its the rana virus as the frog would be red/pink not orange. The size seems about rite too. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
