| | | Baby frogs Has anyone noticed day or so old frogs everywhere?? In all my years of nature watching, I have never seen such a phenomenon! I cant understand whats going on at all. Any others seen the same?? Regards. |

| | | Re: Baby frogs Not really a phenomenon  If you think about it, the frogspawn is laid all together so the amount of eggs all develop at roughly the same rate. That's why they're all that age. I see it quite a bit- very cute.

Yes I agreee not strange at all to see frogs at the same age everywhere. Sometimes one cannot walk in a straight line for them etc, owing to the mass hatch! However these tiny 2/5 day old frogs should be adult, or eaten by predators at this time of year. Being August these tiny frogs are way behind in development. Regards. |

| | | Re: Baby frogs They are about on time, depending on your location and the conditions of the pond emergence will vary afew weeks either way. They certainally wont be adult by now it will take them 2-3 years before they are sexually mature adults. |
