| | | Re: snake hunt Sorry I can't help out in the areas where you are but can ofer some general advice about them. I take my children seeing them in Wales regularly and it's great to build up a childs respect for them. I would advise long pants and maybe wellies if you're going into an area known to have a population of Adders. Keep your eyes down as much as you can as they can blend into their surroundings very well. My daughter almost stepped on one once when she was in sandles but even though she was well within strike range it chose to move away. I'm a little more cautious now but no need to worry as they're very timid creatures that only strike as a last resort.

| | | Re: snake hunt We go to Pwllheli in North Wales, it has a large population as many other areas do also. I'm sorry, I can't give out actual sites as Adders are a protected species and are still persecuted by some, although I'm sure you have the very best intentions and are very genuine. Heathland by the coast is an excellent area for them so I would start by looking there. Also asking at any reptile groups in the area could possibly be an option. I've never been to the Brecon beacons but I'm sure they do have an Adder population so maybe asking the locals would shed some light. If you need any more advice I'm happy to help out. I know how you feel. I would love to see a Grass Snake but it hasn't happened yet. Please let us know how you get on.

what neck of the woods are you from? I'm from Worcestershire myself and know of a few places to spot Adder. You can always drop me a pm.
Cheers
