| | | Natterjacks Hi all. I'm still wondering where I might be able to find natterjack toads in the New Forest. Any ideas? |

There aren't any Natterjacks on the Forest anymore I'm afraid. |

| | | Re: Natterjacks Rather than start a new thread, does anyone know the current status of the (re-introduced) Natterjacks on the Suffolk coast (The Sandling Heaths AONB)
I don't know too much about them - i.e.. whether the Suffolk population became extinct or if the re-introduction was to boost dwindling numbers.
Some years back, I always used to check out the artificial ponds and observe them, but in subsequent years I've seen none and the ponds seemed neglected, despite my 'relaying' the pantile safe pathway for the toads to enter the pond, but the ponds were only half full or dry and it seemed that vandals had thrown the pantiles about the place.
Is the project abandoned ?
