| | | Cats and frogs Hello, I've just dug a small pond at the top of the garden. The grass is growing around it nicely, but the garden is often visited by next door's cats, and lately I've found them stretched out next to the pond.
My question is, will the cats disturb or even prey upon the frogs and newts? I have a sonic cat scare which I could set up near the pond, but I don't know whether the noise would also disturb the frogs.
Any help gratefully received.

My dog is constantly watching the frogs in the pond.
I get the hose and give her a squirt when I see her. |

| | | Re: Cats and frogs a few years ago a cat I had then was a devil for sitting near the pond and hooking fish out with her claws when they came near the edge in the shallow bits or she used to enjoy harrasing the frogs, nothing seemed to work and so when I caught her doing it again I tiptoed up to her and pushed her in the water, it was only a few inches deep on top of marginal baskets so she easily got out but needless to say I never saw her do it again and she lived to a ripe old age
