| | | Do Newts eat baby Goldfish Hi guys,
I have a small pond that has 6 common Newts and now I have found baby
Goldfish I'm wondering will the Newts eat the baby Goldfish ?
If they do eat them, would it be a good idea for me to invest in a fishtank
so I can save them ?
I know Adult Fish will, but I'm lucky as the previous owner of the house
took the parents to her new home.

| | | Re: Do Newts eat baby Goldfish Probably! But soon the adults will leave the pond after laying their eggs, so they may be safe.
What you do with your baby fish depends on whether you prefer goldfish or newts. (I prefer newts).
I think you can get some sort of net to put in the pond to put the babies in- I've even heard of popup laundry baskets being used. |

the cats in the local neighbourhood might play with the bowl. I know my
cat loves to go to the pond.

Your local Wildlife Trust should have leaflets available to advise you further.
