Unusual-coloured slow worm
Found this beautiful female slow worm resting under a tin sheet on dead bracken. Perfect camouflage! I've never seen one this colour before.
It was during a translocation project, hence the plastic container with the juvenile. An area was being quarried so all reptiles were being collected and placed over a reptile fence.



shame she moved her head at the last minute...

That is the colour I often see on the NYM, maybe it is just adaptive colouring.
