Found quite a few adders this year, infact ive seen more adders this year than i have grass snakes, although im starting to find grass snakes more now, had a interesting find today when me and my bud (Arvensis) went for a quick look for adders at a site which is not far from us, we only found one there, a juvenile basking on top of a tin, got attacked by lots of annoying ticks which wasnt nice.
Then we went to an area we have been studying fior a while now, so far we had found slow worms and not so long ago we saw our first common lizards, the area looks ideal for adders and there is no shortage of small mammals for them so we have been hoping to find a adder there eventualy, and today we got what we wanted, Arvenis spotted a large female adder basking on some corrulene, she slithered underneath it and after we got our cameras focused i lifted the refugi and got a nice supprise, another adder already under it, this was a male so i got my first pic of multiple adders, and we were happy as thats another species we have recorded at this site, we dont know if they have already been found there.
