| | | Frogs in the garden Hi there! This is my first post here - I'm looking for some advice, and everybody here seemed to be really helpful, so I thought I'd ask.
I'm in the process of digging up all the weeds and bushes and what-have-you in my garden. it's been left for years and is like a jungle out there so I'm going to start again. In the process of doing this I've unearthed a little frog family! there are three or four of them, and I'm sure there will be more I haven't seen, hiding under some bricks and mulch next to an old coal bunker. that whole area is going to be cleared eventually, so I'm just wondering what to do with the frogs? I don't want to do anything that may hurt them in the long run. Is it best to just work around them and hope that they'll find a new home?
Thanks. |

Are you planning a little pond with the new refurbishment. The frogs will really benefit from one
The frogs will be ok. If they don't like your garden or the disturbance they will move to a neighbours garden. |

| | | Re: Frogs in the garden Apart from the breeding season, frogs spend alot of their time on land, although they like a pond close by (and some stay in and around the pond most of the time).
So....make a pond (any size will do), but also leave a small rough area, a rock pile or rockery, a small log pile and a compost heap.
But they won't mind being moved nextdoor if you don't want to chop them up while digging. Or better still, choose a bit of garden to leave to grow nettles and long grass, and put them there. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
