Newt ID please
I saw this today at Warnham Reserve, near Horsham, West Sussex.
Could it be a great-crested newt? It was approximately 5 inches long.

Yes a male Smooth newt. When you see a Great creasted newt you will know it.

Yes, smooth newts are quite light in colour and delicate looking compared to great crested newts which are like black thugs! Think Phil Mitchell!
