Disturbed common toad

The freakish weather managed to pull over a small shed in our garden today that i was in the process of clearing out.A tin of red emulsion was splattered as far as the eye could see!My partner's just been out to clear up and after sloshing a few buckets of water over the mess,has found a common toad covered in red painty water by the drain,poor thing.I can only assume he was hibernating under the shed.I've rinsed him off and put him in a container with a makeshift 'den' and some compost until i figure out what to do with him.Any ideas?(He seems none the worse for wear at the moment considering his ordeal)Thanks,Lily.

Hi lilly a warm welcome to the site,poor old toady,i cant help you as i dont know much about toads,but if you hang on someone else will sort you out,enjoy your stay.

Find somewhere in the garden that is sheltered and away from predators..I disturbed a toad.. I made a little house out of house bricks with a slab on top and put it at the back of the border near the fence.
