| | | Frog or Toad Saw this through a railway carriage window sitting by the track in a lovely damp area, first glance I thought it was actually black, could be about 3-4 inches in length. My husband also saw a larger one, much lighter in colour only a few inches away from this one. Picture cropped only so the colours are more or less what I saw, pity I didn't get the other one.

And it's toes (if that's what you call them) looked really long, interesting one this.

Me neither, lovely big round eye so frog it is, wonder if they have evolved this colour because of their habitat - railway line, previous quarry and lots of coal bits around.

| | | Re: Frog or Toad I'd say this is one of the dark forms of Marsh/Water Frog group. Common Frogs have a more 'bony' appearance about them, particularly around the head and spine, whereas Marshys are chunky little blighters.
